Have you seen my dollar?

This evening Colton received a crisp new one dollar bill for all the hard work that he puts in around here at the house. Colton proudly proclaimed to the bagger at our local grocery store of how much work he does around the house.... the bagger intently wanting to know more about the topic asked Colton what kinds of jobs he has to do. Colton explained that every Sunday he has to take out the trash, five to be exact, and then without missing a step, instructed the bagger on how to take out all five trashes. Then in all the excitement Colton displayed the new dollar that he earned and described, once again in full detail, how he was going to save it so he could buy his dads super cool car for $1000 when he turns 16. And although I know the bagger was wanting to know more about the thrilling life of my 7 year old, I had paid and it was time to go home, but not without telling every bagger and checker in the store goodbye and to have a great night. Driving home and recalculating the money that had been spent in my head, I was wishing that a one dollar bill was as thrilling to me as it was to a seven year old. I was also so proud of myself for making my sons day and being the coolest mom on the planet!

Before bed tonight Colton once again brought up the fascinating dollar only to inform me that he had lost it. I asked him where he had left it, was it in his pockets, was it in his room... Colton let me know that he had left it on the counter of the kitchen but that it probably fell on the floor and had got eaten by his baby brother Cammon. But after thinking about that for a minute he decided that that probably didn't really happen. He asked me to look for it because it was so important to him. I let him know that I don't leave my money laying about because it might get lost just like his dollar and that since it wasn't my dollar, I was not going to look for it. He then told me that if I see a dollar around to give it him. I asked him how would I know if it was his? He said that it would be folded like a "W" (because that's what he was doing with it at the time of its disappearance) and that it would have George Washington on it. So, if anyone sees a dollar bill matching this description please send it our way, Colton will be so thankful to get his dollar back!

What a cutie pie! I can just see it now, the all important $1! I love that he was worried Cammon ate it, little babies are known for "disappearing" things. :)

We'll be sure and keep an eye out for it here. If we do find a dollar, it's not likely that it's ours.. those things are hard to come by.

That whole talking the ears off the grocery people sounds very familiar...Ruth and Colton are a lot alike.
